or maybe it isn't. I'm using 2.03 with GATH. No problems really. Then I downloaded 2.04b. I can't figure out how to get on-line with it. Figured it would be the same. Log on to 127.0.0.1 with GATH, then connect to the games with Proxy, but now GATH tells me "Problem connecting to 127.0.0.1". I even tried my XP telnet client, but it won't let me connect either. Finally, I re-installed 2.03, and no probs again. I'd like to try the newer version. Got any suggestions?

Unless you changed something else on your end its probably a firewall issue. Firewall is detecting a changed program and refusing to let you use it until you verify the change. I don't think EP changed any of the socket code so there's no other reason why this would happen.

check in setup/program and make sure listen for connection is set on port 23 or whatever port you are using. It was on port zero for me at first

Animal nailed it I think.
I know that many of you have your helper connect to TWX on port 23. With the release of 2.03 however, if the listening port was set to anything other than 23, you get an annoying error at launch about how it couldn't use port 23... even though it wasn't set to use 23.
My solution for this was to remove the default setup of 23. So now everyone has to specify their listening port the first time they setup TWX 2.04b, but noone will see the nagging screen unless their listening port connection really can't be established.
So under the Program Tab, change your listening port from 0.
